No New Kinda Story is a dissection of the first 20 years of a controversial Seattle record label. Strange Practice partnered with writer Ben Bishop to research, collect, and create a 200+ page book, and acted as an executive producer on the full-length documentary by Belief Agency. The project received gold from the American Advertising Federation.

The square layout (a call back to vinyl record packaging) features cover typography built from the iconic label logo. The book is highly detailed — from duo-tone image printing and metallic red inks, to color matched head and tail bands. Printed and bound at the highest quality in Iceland by Oddi.

The book features longform writing taken from artist interviews, never before seen photography, lyrics excerpts, and samples of original artwork for every single artist signed to the label or it’s imprints during the first 20 years (1993 to 2013).
